Frequently Asked Questions

Answers from our clinical and technical teams, always available 24/7.

What is the difference between HFT and CPAP?

CPAP uses pressure to help reduce airway collapse, primarily for sleep apnea. High Flow Therapy (HFT) provides a high rate of heated and humidified air to assist breathing, improve gas exchange, and decrease respiratory effort.

Why does my device have a temperature setting?

The temperature setting is crucial for delivering air that matches the body’s core temperature. This help reduce the airway from drying out and maintains the cilia's ability to clear the respiratory tract.

What should I do if my machine displays a "Flow Blocked" error?

Check the entire circuit for kinks or obstructions. Verify that the nasal cannula is not blocked by mucus or improper positioning. If the error persists, ensure the water chamber is correctly seated.

How can I stop the cannula from irritating my nostrils?

Irritation is often caused by the wrong size or excessive tension. Ensure the prongs are the correct diameter for your nostrils. You may also use water-based nasal lubricants (as approved by your doctor) to reduce friction against the skin.

How do I find the right cannula size?

Use the manufacturer-provided sizing template. The prongs should sit snugly but should not force the nostrils open.

What is "rainout" and how do I stop it?

Rainout is condensation that forms in the tubing when warm, humid air meets cooler ambient air. To help reduce this, ensure your heated wire circuit is activated and, if necessary, adjust the temperature setting on your device.

Can I clean my heated circuit tubing?

Most heated circuits are designed for short-term use and must be replaced rather than deep-cleaned. You can wipe the exterior with an approved disinfectant, but internal buildup requires circuit replacement.

How often should I change my filters?

Follow the manufacturer's operational hour guidelines. Typically, filters are checked weekly and replaced every 3–6 months, or whenever they show visible discoloration.
